On the caliper (not shown), the base 1 is horizontally arranged at such a height that it is possible to conveniently stack the pipe to be subjected to bending. Auxiliary units are placed under the base in the caliper, in particular hydraulic pumps (not shown). A template 2 is placed on the base, against which the workpiece is bent under the action of perpendicularly directed to the longitudinal axis of the pipe forces. The template 2 is made in the form of an elastic tape of adjustable curvature and can be deformed within relatively wide limits. At the base there is a groove 3, into which the elements of the 4 supports are inserted and fixed by means of screws 5 with a cylindrical head. Parallel to the surface of the support are screws 6, passed through the through holes 7 of the support and threaded holes 8 made in the template 2. On both lateral sides of the elements 4 of the bearing on the screw 6 there are nuts 9. With the nuts 9 tightened, the template is rigidly connected to the base 1 through elements 4 support.

If the bending tool 16 is not screwed to the elastic band 17, but is mounted on it with the possibility of movement in the direction of the pipe, it is possible to laterally move individual bending tools. This is necessary, in particular, when a two-part base 1 is used.
The cylinders 24 can only be mounted on the lower pivot arm 26, as a result of which the device will be open at the top in the area where the pipe is placed, which facilitates manipulation with it. However, it is necessary to compensate for significant bending moments in order to prevent the power cylinders from tilting, which leads to their premature wear. The drive for turning can be performed, for example, in the form of a hydraulic drive acting on the gear segment. In the event that such a construction unit is supplied not with one but with two hydraulic cylinders acting together on the pipe, the bending tools must be connected with an elastic band, as is the case in the zone of the largest bending radii.
The device works as follows.
To measure the shape of the template, one of the nuts 9 is released, and the other is tightened more depending on whether the template should have more or less curvature. The original basic form of the template is pre-installed.
After laying the workpiece on the side of the bend pipe that is distant from the template, they are subjected to bending tools 16. They deform the pipe beyond the elastic limit towards the template, and measures are taken for Toi o to prevent crushing or other undesirable deformation of the pipe. All power cylinders can be powered from a single source of pressure medium or, depending on the power consumption, of appropriately designed pumps. Power is supplied through control valves, which, when simple installed, can be manually actuated or can be connected to the next control. To reduce the power of the pumps, the power to the cylinders 13 and 24 occurs in series.
